Petro.t.ex Africa aims to provide a platform that not only questions the status quo but provides all stakeholders with an opportunity to provide feedback and input that should aid and drive responsible and sustainable development of the industry.

Avhapfani (Fani) Tshifularo: is the Executive Director of the South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA), where he is responsible for the day- to-day leadership of the organisation and for its effective management. SAPIA members are BP, Chevron, Engen, Sasol, Shell, Total and PetroSA. SAPIA represents the collective interests of the South African petroleum industry.
As part of his role at SAPIA, Fani also serves as Non-Executive Director at the South African Supplier Development Agency (SASDA). He is a member of the Institute of Directors, American Society of Association Executives &The Center for Association Leadership and BoardSource (National Center for Nonprofit Boards).
Prior to joining SAPIA, he was employed by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), where his responsibilities included establishing the Road Fuel Testing Unit, collection of excise taxes and overseeing all litigation concerning special cases.
His career began at the Minerals and Energy Education and Training Institute (MEETI) where he was a Trainee Energy Policy Analyst. After MEETI, he worked at the Department of Minerals and Energy as an Energy Officer. He holds a Master's degree in Futures Studies from Stellenbosch University.

Lunga Saki: is currently the General Manager: Enterprise Development - Oil and Gas at the South African Supplier Development Agency also known as (“SASDA’). He has over 12 years experience in the Oil and Gas sector having worked for Engen Petroleum Limited and the Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa, also known as (“PetroSA”), the South African National Oil Company. Lunga has extensive experience of the petroleum industry; enterprise and supplier development; commercial development, industry and company analysis, business strategy formulation and implementation. His areas of expertise are in financial management, auditing, strategy formulation; advanced verifications and corporate governance. He is a Board member of the South African National Accreditation Standards (“SANAS”) and chairs its Audit and Risk Committee. He is the chairman of the Board of Directors of Seda Limpopo Jewellery (Pty) Ltd and a member of its Audit and Risk Committee. He sits on the Board of Directors of Mapfura Makhura Incubator and is the chairman of its Risk and Audit Committee, a biofuels entity. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa, the Black Management Forum and The Association of Black Accountants in Southern Africa. He is a committed team player and believes in the principle of synergy from individual competencies. Yet, as a corporate person, interactive personal growth is fundamental. His approach to business is focused, structured and productive. Essentially, his passion is to have a life of influence and purpose.

Dr Crompton: was appointed the Regulator primarily responsible for petroleum pipelines at the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) in October 2005. He was reappointed for a second 5 year term in April 2011. NERSA also regulates the electricity and gas industries.
Prior to his appointment at NERSA he was a senior manager at the national Department of Minerals and Energy for 9 years. His responsibilities there included energy planning, petroleum products regulation, renewable energy and energy efficiency. He has advised Ministers of Minerals and Energy on several major policy interventions and pieces of legislation.
Before joining the Department of Minerals and Energy he worked at the Department of Trade and Industry and before that he ran the Minerals and Energy Policy Centre. He has been a non-executive director on several boards including CEF, PetroSA, Soekor, and Mossgas. In all he has a working association with the chemical and energy industries spanning 27 years. He has a PhD from the University of KwaZulu Natal in industrial policy.

David Sineke: is currently responsible for International Research and Analysis at Engen Petroleum and has a passion for African and International oil affairs.
With a background in Human Resource development he has previously been employed by Denel (LIW Division) as well as several other major corporations in South Africa.
He has an executive MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business as well as holding a Witwatersrand University qualification in Development Program in Oil Studies.

Tony Twine: joined forces with Econometrix in 1983, becoming a Director in 1986. Although best known for his work in the multi-faceted Motor Industry, he has contributed to the development, either in whole or in part, of many of the forecasting models which Econometrix has developed. He has contributed to national government on energy policy, as well as having been intimately involved in the creation of development policies for several government departments.
Tony matriculated from Pinelands High School and graduated from UCT. From 1976 he studied further at UNISA while working for Mobil Oil Southern Africa where he worked extensively on demand models for gasoline and diesel. He later joined Datsun Nissan, where he successively worked as Senior Economist and Market Research Manager. Much of his time was spent on developing data systems, as well as creating and refining forecasting systems.
